Alrghty guys. I was messing around on WoW and I decided to make a Undead Priest. The first five minutes of playing I had a terrible and boring experience. Wanna' know why? First of all, they only do about 1 damage point for each hit when they are in there first ew levels and they can only wear cloth, (Shocker) and they have some pretty lame attacks. I would like to hear your opinion on the Priest class because either I'm unpatient, or priests just suck.

The first twenty levels for a priest is horrendous. It gets better as you level up though. Get yourself a good wand to help you pass the level twenty barrier.

My priest is only 74 at the moment (slowing down to let my friend catch up), and she's awesome. She's no resto druid, but she can withstand attacks from many people. I've ran around in circles of many classes trying to kill me while I pop up shields and penances. Plus AoE fearing while in Drek's castle to cause wipes is tons of fun!

Awesomeness. :P I'm getting the WoW battlechest next tuesday and I'm planning on making a Draenei Paladin. And a Blood Elf Rogue. I have been playing the 14-Day trial lately and I got a human Pally up to Lvl 20 and it won't let me advance. -.- But I still had craploads of fun.

At that level i think they only have like smite, and a dot or two. They go oom alot, but i hope you didn't resort to using melle . I personally couldn't stand to get past the 20 mark just because of how often they went oom.

At higher level's there not really l33t when it comes to dps but it's on the same level as other hybrids. They're a pretty good healer, have some nice buffs. There dps style takes the form of shadow form, and dot damage. Pretty similar to warlocks. It's a pretty cool class i think, not one that i would take time to level up, but thats just because i don't like the playstyle.

I have a full geared priest (guess his name :P ) he owns stuff but...

spriest is the worst dps in terms of dps
disc is the worst healer in terms of heals

so why are priests good? Sadly just 1 move, dispel. Without dispel priests would be the worst class in any mmo its kinda sad how our class relies on 1 spell that is totally broken in terms of game mechanics (I am talking only pvp here)

roll a mage/lock for dps or a shaman/druid for heals

or roll a paly if you feel like being a lamo

Most people base opinions on 80.

At 80, discipline priests are quite powerful. Restoration druids are generally most powerful in 2v2, and that's about it. Disc Priests are only rivaled in healing overpoweredness by Protection Paladins. Restoration shamans are still crappy and easily trainable(focus fired the entire game) by any team.

Having played at 2650+ in all brackets, I have to say these would be the ratings out of 5 for each class.

Priest
2v2: 5/5
3v3: 5/5
5v5: 4/5

Protection Paladin
2v2: 5/5
3v3: 4/5
5v5:2/5

Holy Paladin
2v2: 2/5
3v3: 2/5
5v5: 5/5

Restoration Druid
2v2: 5/5
3v3: 4/5
5v5: 3/5

Restoration Shaman
2v2: 2/5
3v3: 3/5
5v5: 2/5

While leveling a Draenei priest, it was insanely boring until I got a wand, PW:S, and SW:P (Shadow word: pain? I forget)

I could SWP an enemy, cast shield, and just wand them to death.

Obviously this wouldn't work in the higher levels, but I never really got there, I stopped playing at 12

Priests just aren't for me I guess.

And glitched, I know you mean well, but not everyone at 80 is looking to PVP, or do arenas. I know I'm not. And that's one of the reasons why the WoW community forums fail: because they assume you're going to PVP and know exactly what to do and when to do it.

Well priests are hard to lvl till shadowform than easy for quest and pvp too specially cuzz melee dont do much dmg :P, I suggest till u get mind fly to just PW:S than dot and wand him to death, heal if its needed, otherwise u will have to much downtime getting mana every 1-2 mobs.
But ye first 20 lvls are hell ^^

^ Amazing Mage/Priest 2v2 video. Might not be the best mage skillwise, but the video editing is absolutely astounding and there are so many "oh shit, wow" moments that it leaves viewers speechless.
