The two easier professions would be either Monk or Ranger. I would suggest you start in either Prophecies/Tyria (because of the lower level of difficulty of missions & quests) or Night Fall/Elona (because you get Hero companions that help you fight and keep you safe
).I feel that starting your first character in Factions/Cantha would be a mistake. Even though the missions start of fairly easy, they quickly jump from easy to very difficult as soon as you leave Shing Jea Island. The way it pans out is this: Prophecies...quests/missions are very easy...long, but uncomplicated...if you miss the bonus in most missions, you can go back and do just the bonus part without doing the entire mission. Night Fall...quests/missions gradually grow in intensity and difficulty. If you miss bonus, you must go back and do the whole thing over. Factions...quests/missions go from very easy to very difficult in no time at all. The missions are increasingly difficult and they are timed. ![]() Quote:

Please don't listen to anyone who is telling you to pick an easy class. There are so many ways to play each class its not even funny. For PVE, Its pretty straightfoward. Go Warrior if you want to deal alot of damage in melee with very little down time. Ranger spreads conditions, uses pets or deals ranged damage. Ele goes BOOM! Mesmer and necro screw with your enemies. Monks heal. Assassins farm. Dervishes don't die. Ritualists either heal, spam turrets, or deal obscene amounts of damage. Paragons yell.*
* note on para's, can deal spear damage and give crazy buffs (useful for ultra-endgame), not many people play them. Any of these classes can preform roles outside of their normal skill set, because they can change secondary professions. If you want versitility try either ranger (can use spears, daggers or warrior weapons effectively) or mesmer(fast casting is awesome). Necros can also play most ritualist builds.
