Default RAM question

Right now I have 2x1GB A-Data DDR2-667 RAM. The brand probably sucks but I basically got it for free with my motherboard. I want to buy 2 extra gigs of RAM but I'm not sure what I should buy. Should I get the same brand and same clocks? 2x1GB or 1x2GB? Or should I get a DDR2-800 of the same brand? OR a DDR2-667 or 800 from another brand?

If you let the ram you have now, in it, take thesame brand and speed.
You can go higher if you'd like to, but the speed would be set to the lowest there is, so there isn't any benefit from taking a higher speed ram.

If you want to change your ram completely:

Ok, thanks. I want to keep the RAM I have now and add 2GB. Does it matter if I get 1 stick of 2GB or 2 sticks of 1GB? (I use 2 sticks of 1GB atm)

32bit, regardless which OS, only supports up to 3.25gb of ram (2^32). In any case, going from 2 to 3.25gb of ram is noticeable.

64bit, theoretically can support up to +-1.5Petabyte of ram (wrong word I think, not sure)(2^64), but due hardware and software limitations, it cannot go higher then 32gb max now.

It is best to get another A-Data with similar specs. It's possible to mix and match, but it has risk, since some RAM takes more power to work. So say, your RAM takes 1.8v, which is the lowest for DDR2 as far I've seen, and the one running at 800mhz you just got have to be downclocked, or yours to be overclock, so lets say it was downclocked to 667mhz, it will take either 1.9v or 1.8v. 1.8v might be too little for it to operate, but 1.9v might overheat your current RAM, since it's probably the one with out heatspreaders. Also, for the issue of 2GB or 2x1GB, I'd get the two sticks, it'll give you dual channel, instead of dual channel and a half, which don't exist..
