Hello!
I have 1 big heck of a problem that is annoying and started to piss me of A LOT!, ok here it is...When i'm playing any game time to time(5-10min) my fps drops to 0-2 and lags/freeze like hell and its stupid and annoying makes me wanna throw computer somewhere...anyway i'm no noob in computer so dont say clean spyware or install that to fix that(I did all after all i though maybe format whole computer would do as usual) but as now still same shit(I play all low 640x480) I once putted to max i could 1440x900(playing on laptop atm) and high graphics and i sow went normal 50fps but than come to this time (5-10min) and still lags the crap out of it... I tryed to avoid crowd or anything and still same...I turned off winamp, closed all programs i dont need, installed game booster(closes all programs that not needed for games) and again same... But here comes funny part all would say(ur computer is slow upgrade it) but <- lol at that because Either I play 2000 game or 2009 it doesnt matter lags and freeze every here and there...So tell or explain or w/e u can(I beg u) i should do this laptop is 1 year old and far as I sow never laged(maybe it gets to hot or?) SPEC: Windows vista HP pavilion nvidia geforce 8600M GS intel core 2 duo cpu 1.50ghz 2gb ram(hah i typed mb xD) 32 bit So if u think its slow(can u suggest) what should I upgrade I dont think ramz would do any tricks maybe better processor but this days I rather buy new computer than pieces since new come 600€ and Its great(friend have it) and he plays wolfenstein high without a problem(laptop aswell). I have normal computer to but rather be on laptop its better for me, so please again suggest(money aint big problem) Thx. Last edited by Kekec; 08-29-2009 at 02:11 AM. |

upgrading a HP isnt suffiecent and is a waste of money, i'd build or get a custom pc on the way instead, take a look inside the case of your hp, all cheap unbranded parts, its hell in there. The problem is your integrated gpu, and slowly clocked processor, your pc's for everyday use, not gaming.
edit: and i just saw that its a laptop, you can upgrade it, but itll be a waste of time and money learnign how to properly do so. |

It could be that your hard drive is going bad. Newer hard drives have dense platters, which is basically a giant CD, so it performs faster even if the RPM is slow. Yours could be that it's 5400RPM, which slows down performance, not too badly though, but might also have a low density platter, so if your hard drive is 250GB, it would be split into 2 125GB or 3 ~75GB, if it was new, if it's old, it'd be like 5 50GB.

My brother had 2GB on his laptop with HP, he ran silky smooth on his computer. I ran with 2GB for a few days, since I had to install Vista that way, and it gamed just fine.
