I was wondering if it is safe to use my 27" HDTV as a monitor over the long run. Woke up this morning and my current LCD monitor is dead. I have this one hooked up through the a DVI to VGA adapter and it is working fine, just didn't know if it would effect the TV over the long run.

It is completely safe, you may or may not get to the same resolution, since TVs aren't made for usages as a monitor, but it can. The only downfall I can think of is that it may shorten the life since you'd be running it more often, and that you can't watch and play games anymore.

I have a 37inch as my Computer monitor and i can still watch TV and play all my games I have enough ports to have my TV,computer,wii,ps3 and soon to be Xbox 360 and i can do 2 things at the same time because most HDtvs comes with pic in pic/split screen and it wont ruin the life to much if you turn it off when your not using it |
