Default Any guitarists out there??

I need a new song to play on the guitar. The reason is that i understand more techniques from other guitarists through playing. I have made quite a few songs, but i need more inspiration.

Songs i learned: Pantera-Floods, Pantera-This Love, Metallica-Master of Puppets, Metallica-one,Metallica-Enter Sandman(my first song), Coheed and Cambria-Welcome Home (learned for Pinch Harmonics),and that's all i can think of.
I have been playing my scales continuously, but i don't really care for speed playing, I like making the guitar "sing", so NO DRAGONFORCE please...

By the way, any advice or tips would be nice and appreciated.

EDIT: forgot to add that I have been playing for a year, i Have and Epiphone and Behringer guitar and AMP, no pedals im poor xD

play whatever you feel like, go to ultimate guitar.com, and check out top rated tabs, try and play those, I usually just come up with my own songs, since my amp has recorded and a build in base/drumset, i can have a chorus guitar in the back and i'm lead, So I haven't been learning any new songs. But ya, check out that place, some of those top rated are pretty hard. In the forum section they have tons of tips for guitarists, Tons. and they have lessons as well

Wow that's pretty cool. I have a crap Amp (small Behringer that came with the guitar), the behringer guitar, one working chord, and one Chorus pedal that a friend gave me that doesn't work. I need a whammy bar too. Looks like i gotta save some money =D

If you want some serious challenges.

Wintersun's songs are AMAZING. On every single aspect.

Just a little taste.

If you can learn this, you'll be considered a god to my eyes.

Now, more stuff. Devin Townsend. He's another musical genius.

Sum-41 - The Hell Song
Sum-41 - Fat Lip
Sum-41 - Over my Head (Better off Dead)
Nirvana - Smells like Teen Spirit
Avenged Sevenfold - Betrayed
Blink 182 - Dammit
Brand New - Sudden Death in Carolina
3 Doors Down - Kryptonite
Ozzy Osbourne - Diary of a Madman (String dampening)
Collective Soul - December
Creed - One Last Breathe
Hendrix - Castles Made of Sand
Guns 'n Roses - Sweet Child 'o Mine
The Beatles - Here Comes the Sun (Capo at 7)
Polaris - The Human Abstract (has quite a few Squealies)

Just a few i know, check a youtube video and see if you like any; most are real east, but some are real tough. (Everything by Nirvana and Brand new are real easy so if you like some of their songs search around for some others.)

I got a big list of acoustic songs if you're ever interested.

EDIT: nice amp haha, i have a pedal that does pretty much everything, drum beats, chorus, reverb, wah, delay, some really cool sounding distortion effects, i can make hundreds of new sounds with it. best part is i got it from a pawn shop.

Taking lessons is always a good idea if you can find a good teacher. I take drum lessons, and have taken guitar lessons from the guy I take drum lessons from now.
But just practice your scales, and find out who you like and what kind of style your going for, and just try to figure out what others are playing.
imitation before simulation
repetition is also the godfather of learning
Creativity will come in time.

What kind of style are you going for and I could most likely list you some bands to check out.

Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
is one of the songs where he style comes out the most.
