I'm developing a classic, old-school MUD (Multi-User Dungeon) that is identical to their old TELNET counter-parts, but instead of typing commands, you just use the web interface.
I'm confident it's highly entertaining due to it's very interactive nature. Most RPG games on the web are not real-time combat or play. I have actually accomplished this using javascript techniques, and the result is quite nice. If you have played a MUD before, it will be very familiar. Please try it out at www.EvilInstincts.com. Do not be taken aback by the sparseness and low-graphics feel of it. Most of the development has been on game-play and functionality. I would love to hear your comments on it! Thanks! |

Yeah, sorry about that, I put that on the front page, that shops, some objects and other stuff is still not available, that's part of the beta stuff we're still fixing.
But the game is playable, although a bit more difficult

Lol - I like the automated combat (I miss games where you can just click "fight" and then don't have to do anything). Everything was stats-based, but the stats and skills were unique (example: Forlorn Hope was much cooler than Lands of Hope - Gladiator class).
Ok, and... Oh sweet - no permadeath! I was thinking of - sigh - can't find it. Something with LOTR mobs made in the 90s. Ok, that was cool. But room-descriptions need colour-coding. |

Well, fights are not totally automated, you can actually DO MAGIC or activate ABILITIES in the middle of the fight, but yes, I think it's much better than just clicking and waiting to refresh.
Oh, and I've implemented the SHOPS, so those work now... |
