Think Final Fantasy with a larger party, but no random battles. You have to run into the enemy on the playing field.

I just started playing Atlantica 4 days ago. I was surprised at the quality from a free 2 play game. Some characters have voice work done, the graphics are...well they are ok nothing to impressive. Combat system is very unique in the genre however.
The community is simply amazing. I asked some harsh questions about the cash shop and prices on the forums the people were very respectful and helpful in their replies. I even got an invite to a competitive high level guild from a person I met on the forums. Yeah I was shocked as well, they invited a brand new player to a end game guild that owns towns. She helped me learn the game and understand some of the basic combat mechanics as well as gave me some equipment to start off. Overall I gotta tell you, community, Gameplay, originality, Atlantica for me has all of this. The only down side I found to it is around level 100 you ether need to farm 12-16 hours every 4 weeks to afford CS items from players. Or... spend about 10-20 bucks/mo to get by at higher levels. CS items are a must have after level 100 but you can buy them via in game money. To farm the money you will need to actually stop what you are doing, your current leveling or crafting and go farm money for two or three days a month. It really seems like a fair trade off to be able to play for free and remain competitive in PvP and even in PvE if you farm a bit more. I know 2 players already one level 105 another level 109 both who have been playing 100% free. Yes they do spend about 30% of their online time farming money to afford it but they get it done they have great competitive gear and are very high level.

Atlantica is a great game. Played it to death for a while, but I think in the long run I got frustrated with having to gear and maintain 9 characters.
Still, I'd highly recommend it to anyone. |

The thing that ruined the game for me is.. way to slow paced lol.. I got bored after like 10 fights.. I used to love turn based games but now.. real time is more fun for me.. |

Worst f2p game ever, in my opinion. I guess I'm bias though, I hate all turn-based games. Can't stand having to wait. Combat should always be fast, fluid, and in real-time. Not I attack you, then I let you attack me, and back and forth we go, til someone drops. That type of combat is just really boring to me. If you like that more power to ya.
