Default What to do when one of your Accounts get hacked?

Well someone hacked my account on the zombiemaster.org forums and gave out personal info of some user (users real name, address) to the forum and pmed members in it. I have no idea who did this because I was at work earlier when this happened... Somehow they traced the IP back to me but I don't even know who "ajunk"(total stranger) is and I never knew him in the past?

So now my zombiemaster.org forum account is banned, haven't been there for months so no prob..

Although I just went through my accounts and changed the password of all my important accounts...

Anyone else have something like this happen to them, and any idea why people do this kind of shit, also should i worry about spyware on my cpu because I'm scanning right now and might reset my comodo so i have to reinput all my settings to block off whoever had access if they used my cpu from a remote location.

Also should i reset my comodo firewall or just reformat?

Probably just be more careful who you give your password to and write the old account off as lost.

Like you said, change any passwords which were identical to that one.

Problem is if it is a keylogger, he has my credit card info and bank info... The person that used my account knew personal info of other forum members...

I know most people think identity theft means gameover but it doesnt. As soon as you see or even think anyone has bank details and can use them you ring your bank and tell them also keep an eye on your statements anything he uses it for will be refused and then they can do something to change details and what not.

A few of my old accounts got keylogged you really should change PWs every 2 weeks-1month.

Well, it really is hard to get yourself hacked I mean you gotta be really stupid unless I just find it obvious, but If I ever did I would smack the crap out of someone

Not really. Sometimes just browsing websites can get you in trouble if you're not safe.

The thing is, should i be worried that all someone did was get me banned from some forum i never use? they didn't do anything that would negatively affect me now? they haven't used my credit card or did anything to my bank.

Usually don't banks have protection on the site so even if i got a keylogger, they won't be able to read what i was typing?

In my infinite wisdom I downloaded a copy of that remote desktop software some user posted here on OnRPG. The one where you can control any unsecured PC by just having their IP address, I can't recall the name.

Anyway, the user who posted it takes control of my own computer, opens up Internet Explorer, goes to OnRPG.com and asks me to unlock a thread. Talk about missed opportunity.

True story.
