An honest question directed at anyone on either side before this thread gets its inevitable lock: I keep seeing 'DFO doesn't have X percentage of content that arad/kdnf had at release' and I played Arad last summer a bit with friends (didn't go too high, got characters to 32 and a ton of alts in the 20-30 range) and I just don't see how this is missing 50-80% of the content that version had, here's a list of features:
Feature: Arad/DFO Towers: No/No Hell mode: Yes/No Cash Shop: Yes/definitely in official Higher level cap: Yes/likely will be increased in official Sky Tower Revamp: Yes/Yes Mechanic 'Corona' skills: No/Yes UI Overhaul: No/Yes Town PvP: Yes/No Witch: No/Yes Guilds: Yes/likely in official 10 Quest Slots: No (3)/Yes PvP: Yes/Yes PvP Maps: Yes/Missing 1 or 2 Comic-style Opening: Yes/Yes Second Hotbar: Maybe I didn't find the button for it?/Yes Coins Per Day: 1/1 Servers: 2/1 Exp Curve: Some Grinding/Much More Grinding GSD-partnered quests: Not that I can recall/Yes Titles: Only found Kanna Slave/ Seem to be more So, those are all the features I can think of that I was aware of in at least one version of the game. I don't know if Behemoth was revamped or is just bugged because the archbishop/high priest double boss no longer summon adds and zealots don't seem to stab themselves and turn into squid-things anymore. So, with the knowledge that Arad released earlier than just 'the summer of last year' in mind, it seems that DFO has *more* updates than Arad did a little over a year ago (which is definitely after it first launched) and has many of its features. So, am I missing something, or are people really repeatedly just referring to a few aspects of PvP (at least 1 map and in-town PvP), a few cash-shop linked aspects (i.e. pets+avatars), a higher level cap and guilds (which will likely be released come official), and Hell Mode as 50+% of the content (the exp curve is more of a 'sideways change' rather than an addition/subtraction)? |
