damn im stuck on the quest 'conquest of artifact camp' i saw in a walktrough vid 4 fighters in the bandit camp are suposed to follow u when u talk to them but none of them do for me =/ lazy bastards, no way i can raid a camp with 10+ people alone.

edit: actually i did slaughter them all by myself now lol, just pulled them with crossbow and hide in temple so only 1 at a time could fight me =p

Well, I am doing Monastery and the Bandits somewhat simultaneously. I FINALLY!!! Got to Act 2. And now, I need to farm some Disks. Its getting pretty cool. I have a quick tip to make money.

Step 1) Go to Harbour Town (This has to be done before Act 2 obviously..but doing it now makes it easier)

Step 2) Fight all the Warriors of the Order, loot the Executioners Staves.

Step 3) Sell them for 60gp a Staff. (I made 2k gold this way)

Now if you are a bandit, you get to go to the Monastery so far ONCE (Right before Act 2) There you can do the same exact thing as Harbour Town. =) Quick money and EXP.

lol nice tip ill remember that =p i heard another exploit was posible with that bandit dude giving u 70gold for 10 weed plants, u give him 10 weed plants, he gives u 70gold, u kick his *** and loot the plants (or pickpocket lol) and sell the weed again

do the guys with the staff keep dropping their staff over and over again? in that case your method works faster =p and seems somewhat more fair

Nope. You also get 30ish or so gold because you can loot em too. Once you knock em out they automatically take out a Club or a Branch (Spear)

Where is the SS folder for Risen? I take Screenies but can't find.


I am trying to play the game without exploits or anything, because I played Oblivion so badly with the consoles. :P


Yeah, 30ish gold + 60 x a whole city of those guards = alot.

Its a pretty nice tip, just be careful of big fights (Also the guards themselves drop swords that sell for 50g)

thanks for the tip and yeah ill wont cheat/exploit either unless i have no other choice =p (but then it will probably have to be done by the console, like if i accidently kill an alied friend it seems u can just respawn him)

i dont know where the screenshot folder of risen is cause i make my screenshots with fraps.

edit: finaly found it lol, its been bugging me also cause i didnt see it in the risen folder or my documents.
im on vista x64 and its located C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Risen\screenshot s
i hate it when the screenshot folder ends up somewhere else with every game-.- thats why i started using fraps lol

Few questions

How many factions can you join? I know about Rebels and the Inquisition but I read a review that said you could join the town guard

If you attack someone in town will it actually kill them or just knock them down when they run out of hp? (if i started the fight for no reason)

Do monsters/animals respawn at all? Reason I ask is because it's not a massive world in this game and I've already killed so many things....apart from the west coast those war crickets are hardcore not to mention all of the skeletons

Factions:

Mage - To do this, instead of "getting caught" go to Harbour Town and assist that Berchwusle guy..or whatever..hes stirring a pot all the time. Mages learn...magic,
RUMOR: Onlly able to learn level 5 in staffs.

Bandit - Simple, join the Don at the Swamps. They excel at Archery/Crossbows/Axes/Swords while having to depend on Scrolls for magic.

Warrior of the Order - Simple, get caught and get sent to the Monastery. They learn Staffs to the Max.
RUMOR: Crystal Magic level 5
RUMOR: They can also Max out swords, but not Axes.

nah nothing respawns in this game from what i heard/seen. so its best to plan your playtrough =p save your plants for +str/dex pots, save raw meat for +str/dex cooking stuff. wait with slaughtering everything untill u can do gutting and got the 2 tools to cut off teeth and that other 1.^^

do you think in the later levels of the game you will basically be a jack of all trades with all skills maxed? that would suck if that was the case because i much rather it when you choose to focus on a few things but would never be able to max all skills so it would actually make the game worth playing over again
