Hey, i noticed allot of people on onrpg have been playing or just started playing Risen and thought it would be nice to make a info/help thread about it since i find myself in allot of positions where i feel like asking someone's help or opinion on something, or just to talk about things u done different i hope u guys too

the game is very interesting and i love how the story is brought to u with all the different choices/inpacts on everything u do. can be anoying at times though since i always want to stay the good guy but even in a game like this u can easy make a mistake.. ive had one time i was just staring at the 3 choices i could make for 5 minuts lol afraid i'd pick the wrong thing ;.; also accidently killed one of the bandits (stabbed him while on ground) once cause he wanted to have all of my money and he didnt trust me. we would be going to a temple to explore together but halfway he decided to either take all my gold or my life, so i chose to fight. killing him didnt really seem to bother the rest in the camp since noone ever spoke of him again but i still felt kinda bad about it cause i didnt know u could kill npc's with another mouse click when they are on the ground.

it seems telling don esteban about brogar's messing arround was a wrong choice also even though u get 100xp and what u tell to esteban sounds right, however this caused brogar to go ape shit and run into the swamp... probably waiting for me lol, havent seen him yet. and the lady in the town didnt want me to tell on him either so she's mad on me now.. which is strange cause she said she would slip something in brogars food to slowly kill him.. much worse dead if u ask me then make don esteban give him a quick dead. but the thing is i dont want any more people of that camp to die u know.. cause they are actually the good guys from what i understand so far. they were the original owners of the city but got kicked out by the Inquisitor which just recently arived.

some things are still buggy but overall its a great game so far, cant wait to see how it continue's finished all the quests in the bandit camp now and decided to work for don esteban after he explained a thing or 2.

just 1 question i have.. where do i learn prospecting, in harbor town? i cleared out the monsters in the swamp and the cave and theres allot of fish to be mined =p

edit: cool got prospecting now^^ also i read a very usefull tip on the risen forums!
1 Ogreroot can be used in +5 Strength potions
1 Pixie hat can be used in +5 Dexterity potions
10 Mushrooms can be used in +10 health potions
10 Berries can be used in +10 mana potions
(these are all permanent stat modifiers)
to bad i ate allot of those plants already lol, gotto save them for later to make pots

Answers: Brogar is annoying, I made the same mistake too. I actually went to Don Estaban then I came back and she was like "Don't tell the Don about this"
and I was like "...."

Lorenzo (The guy you killed with 1 mouse click) didn't like you stealing his cut of the gold. So he lured you away to kill you, or give him the cut of your gold. The only reason I would've felt bad is if I didn't already woop his *** in Arena and made a quick 100g.

The guy that you are looking for is like Olf or something, (the one that teaches prospecting) he is indeed a challenge to get to, because he is in Don's old house in Harbor Town. Which is proven difficult due to the fact that Warrior of Order are all over that particular house, there is a quest (That has to do with the Don trusting you a bit more before you can join him) that you can do that instructs you to go into the house and find an amulet. That is a good opportunity to talk to Olf (On the second floor) and learn prospecting.

I currently stopped playing my Bandit character, and started a Mage. I am having all sorts of difficulties at the Monastery. One, I need to find Master Abrax, in some dungeon..and I did everything I could..but still no luck. Then they want me to go to a dungeon and get a Fire Crystal..which I can't because I need the Nautilus Spell..which I need to find Master Abrax to learn. So I really could use some help at that.

ooh interesting thanks, i just arived in harbor town today and it looks like i will be stuck here helping people for a while but i do got that quest for don esteban also sorry i cant really help u lol ur much further then i am =p havent been in the monastery yet.

btw i missed the 100g in the arena for lorenzo cause i didnt start arena fights yet before he agro'd me lol

Yeah, Lorenzo was worth the 100g. Hes an easy fight. (Maybe it was 50. I could be wrong. And Domingo was 100g ..I don't remember now)

The reason I stopped playing the Bandit is because Don Estaban sends you into Harbor Town..which is cool, but I have NO clue how to leave. As both guard gates refuse to let me out.. =(

hmm think u gonna have to spend allot of time doing all the quests and talk to all the people before u get to leave town again, i beleve someone said something about a posible thirth passage leading outside of the city but ill try find out tommorow, theres just so much to do lol.. got like 10+ side quests. also noticed a small boat laying in the water in harbor town, might be usable later? >.>

edit: i just read something that might be the solution. u gotto do some order quests till u get a quest for smugglers, also patty has something to do with it, she wants to leave town. it seems the passage way outside town is at sonya's place anyway. u will be able to go trough there in the end but maybe u could lock pick it if u really want out that bad =p

If you do all of the Don's quest, where you have to help 5 of his Men, to see if they are still spying and didn't defect (You get this quest by gaining access to the Don's temple and then speaking with the Don) the 5th guy mentions Sonya has a "storeroom" where their leader is. Problem is I can't find this Storeroom. =( Any ideas? Its near the Brothel..but no luck.

And yeah I did all of Patty's quest, no luck at that...unless I didn't really finish it.

lol i just found it within 1 minute after starting up the game =p its in sonya's place behind the bookcase in the room where that other girl is taking a bath, hit mouse click infront of the painting of that tree .

edit: just finished most of the quests in town, so if anyone here gets stuck on something here i might be able to help^^

also i found a recipe in town today that lets u cook a hunter's fry up. sucks i cant remember where exactly it came from though because i noticed it was in my inventory later, but im 100% sure its in harbor town, probably stole it from a picklocked chest.. i went over every single chest in town this morning lol

Playing as bandit atm and im done with harbour town and just mining/smithing atm but i was wondering about something back when i was in town.

There was a quest where I had to follow a certain npc to see who he was meeting with and while i was following him through town some hooker i previously pickpocketed outside of sonyas came running up to me practically begging me for some 'lovin' but i told her to **** off because i was losing sight of the guy i was following or was that the purpose of it? Was she meant to distract me? Or have I missed out on something good because she wont even speak to me now so i have no idea lol (this happened at midnight halfway between patty and sally's place).

OMG ROFL! i had the exact same thing! i was like 'go away dumb ***** im busy!' clicking trough it all so i didnt quite get that either haha. i tried casting a joke spell on her later (atleast i think it was the same woman) but it didnt work.

btw just saying its worth it sleeping with olga one night lol, she's nice and gives u 100xp and a joke scroll xD

haha i guess it's meant to happen like that then so i guess she was in on it to even though she isn't mentioned later. Yeah going to olga was one of the first things i did in town lol. When you get the time go into the area where don is (with all the gold etc) and jump up on the ledge to the left of it, when i did i just run through not paying much attention and then i got scared to death lol (and pwned)
