Long Long Ago, In a Galaxy far far away there was an online space shooter called Space Cowboy in which it called the Gpotatian empire home. Suddenly, without warning it got sucked into a worm hole and was seeminly lost forever. Many grieved for it's return, desperately looking for signs until one day the gods gifted them a messenger only known as 'Gameforge 4D'. This messenger promised to give birth to the baby brother of the the prophet known to some as 'Flysis'. As Flysis grew older he went on search for followers, these followers were found in the ruins for the Gpotatian empire. As his followers grew, he formed an elite group of supporters and trained them to be pilots. This elite group consisted of:
Him, being the most powerful of evils sent all weak minded pilots to the land of Casualopolis, never to return to Air Rivals. As the number of Air Rivals grew, tension was afoot as to who should lead the Air Rivals since the prophet left to explore the lands of Taikodom. One believed that they should be led by one, all powerful government in which they bring happiness through unity, while the other believed they should be led by an all powerful king. Later these two ideologies formed the foundations of BCU and ANI. The year is now 2009 AB. (After Breakout) The war between the two factions has lasted 7 years with no end in sight. We see no victors, no losers, only ship wreaks and pilots one by one are sent to fight for what they believe in. Each Faction has send recruiters to try and feed each faction support only to fortify the long-going stalemate. There are no birds in the sky, no animals on the ground. Only Gears, Missiles, Gunfire and Loss. Who do you fight for? Hello OnRPG, It's me again for another thread that may grab your interest! Yes, you may remember the old thread and yes, you may say "Why the heck are you doing it again?" Well the anwser is quite simple. Dungeon and Fighter. Now while I'm sure some of you think it's the best game of all time, a certain blockade has prevented me and many other people to play with the hyped up masses. Which is why I have an offer. Some of you may already know the Massively Multiplayer Online game known as Air Rivals, yes? You're aware of the grind, of the boredom and the insanity of getting to the holy grail of end game PvP. Some of you may stick to a game for a day and then leave. Some of you still play this game and know the sweet nectar it contains. I know that this is the perfect time filler until a good free to play game comes out that's international (never) However, This thread is not asking you to play this game, I'm not here to tell you it's the best game ever and you should 'DL RITE NOW' This thread is here for your interest, if you are not interested then please use the nearest exit. For those of you that do play, Welcome! My good friend clicky_stix still has a guild of great justice up known as Korean Effeciency, this guild housed many OnRPG members during the previous thread and will do so again. This time we also have an Xfire group set up for your voice chatting needs. You can apply for it *here* Fun times are ahead gentlemen. Full of space, wars and win. May the gods be with you. What happens when you play Air Rivals? ![]() What happens when you don't play Air Rivals? ![]() Below you'll find a cesspool of copypasted information regarding Air Rivals. ![]() Before you hop in your space ship, hold your horses captain! Make sure if you want to be useful at Air Rivals that you turn off the option "Maintain Horizon Automatically" It allows much more flight freedom and enables you to do more trick fly upside-down sh!t ect. For blind people like skeep, here is what I just said in Braille . . .. . . . .. . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . .. . .. . . . . .. . . . .. .. . . . . . . . . . .. . .. . . . .. .. . . . . . . . . .. .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . .. . . . .. .. . . .. . . . .. . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . .. . . . .. . . . . . . . . .. . .. . .. . . . .. . . .. . . .. . . . .. . .. . .. .. . .. . . . . . .. . . . . .. . .. . . . . . . .. . .. . .. . .. . . .. . .. . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . .. . . . .. . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . .. . . . . . .. .. . .. . . . . .. . . .. . . .. . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . .. .. .. . . .. .. . . . . .. .. . . . .. . . . . . .. . . .. . .. . . . . .. . .. . . . . . .. . . . .. . .. . .. . . . . .. .. .. . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . .. .. .. . .. .. . . . .. . .. . . . .. . .. . . . . . . . .. . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. . .. . . . . . .. . .. . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . .. . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .. . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. . . . . . . . . . . .. .. . . .. . . . . . . . . So what the hell is Air Rivals? Air Rivals is a reincamation of the popular MMOFPS Space Cowboy Online (SCO) and was until recently named Flysis. The game is a third person space shooter which is pretty much a MMO Starfox Online with a focus on PvP. It features a large variety of maps, including mountain ranges, moons, beachs and space along with a well developed Nation vs Nation System (NvN). What in the bloody heck are Nation Wars and what is PvP like in Air Rivals? By spending time in the Battle Zones (Channel 0 of each map) you will be able to engage in PvP with the opposing nation - in your own maps or by travelling to theirs. When you kill an enemy player, you'll gain a fame point, a Killmark, and a point will be added to your nations kill total (NCP) Every 100,000 NCP that either nation earns will initiate a Mothership event. Motherships are huge targets deep within a Nations territory, they must be destroyed within 2 hours by the nation that initiated the event while the other nation attempts to defend it. The bragging rights and in game rewards offered by these events result in the largest and most fierce wars the game has to offer, spanning many maps at once. In addition to Mothership events there will also be a number of Strategic Point events taking place every day. Strategic Points appear randomly on the ground in a number of maps, they must also be destroyed or defended - this time within 1 hour. The rewards for destroying or defending these targets are an increase in your nations NCP, a moderate gift of in-game funds and in the case of a succesful attack, the ability to respawn in the enemy map after being killed for 2 hours - allowing massive slugfests between nations. Ok, Is that all? Sounds like your typical PvP focused MMORPG... No that is not all! You are wrong and should feel ashamed! Not in previous versions of the game is something called an Advanced Base War these bases were added at the start of Air Rivals. Every 5 days at times set by the brigade in control of the advanced base there will be an "Advanced Base War". These events involve players flying to special battle maps to destroy to destroy and capture objectives, over the course of the war one nation must retain control until the war timer runs out. You can find the times of these events in the town, allowing more people to be online and enjoy some large scale wars. Once the Advanced Base War is completed, the winning nation/brigade gains access to a private warship/space base. Sounds cool, what classes/ships are there? Haha, I thought you'd never ask! http://aircodex.org/Game/A-Gear http://aircodex.org/Game/B-Gear http://aircodex.org/Game/I-Gear http://aircodex.org/Game/M-Gear FAQ Q: OK, it's a PvP game, but it's Korean. How bad is the grinding in this game? A: A couple of weeks will see you into your 60's and 70's, pace depending on your gear, well into good pvp levels. Unfortunately the grind is a bit repetitive so can sometimes feel slow, though if you're in ventrilo with people it goes by much quicker. Just remember that PvE exists solely for the PvP - higher stats, slightly better weapons, better engines, better armors, and so on. Levels aren't everything though, so don't expect them to save you against that lowbie if you suck at flying your gear. Q: What level does the PvP start? When will I not be useless? A: You are never useless. At the very least, you become a meat shield for others who can do more damage than you. PvP begins at level 11, after you chose ANI. After completing the level 22 mission you unlock all ANI and BCU maps and pvp events. At level 50 you unlock all of the moon maps, and at 57 Islands Dream and the Chaos chain. Then that's it. No more level requirements. A good PvP level is in the 60's, which can be done within a couple of weeks, and is a good stopping point if you plan to never grind again. Q: Do I need to buy cash shop items to not suck? Will those that use it have a huge advantage? A: You never have to spend a penny on it to be good. Almost all of the cash items have slightly weaker versions that drop in-game. The exception being Membership packages, which can give limited, short lived power ups and adds a number of helpful non-pvp features. Some of the more useful features of the cash shop can also be traded for with in-game money, it just might take longer to get them. Q: Can I use a joystick in this game? Can I remap/rebind my keys? A: No. No no no no no, a thousand times no. I get asked this question all the time. Once you give it a shot you'll realize that a joystick is kind of retarded for this game. It is very much a first person shooter. Also, as much as we all want to remap/rebind our keys, we can’t do it. This sounds pretty deep, is there a Wiki on this S***? here and or here or for those who are lazy A-Gear Guide : http://board.airrivals.net/index.php...threadID=17019 B-Gear Guide: http://board.airrivals.net/index.php...threadID=11210 I-Gear Guide: http://board.airrivals.net/index.php...&threadID=9897 M-Gear Guide: http://board.airrivals.net/index.php...&threadID=1156 Briefing Now as some remember, the previous thread instructed that you only join ANI. This time, someone can take charge of The BCU side of OnRPG. That means you can pick either side. Also, if this is proven successful, we can meet up and have OnRPG dogfights. Ant that awesome? Also, we'll be on Helix, any other server is inferior. Kay. I'm on the ANI side and so is Clicky Stix but if you choose to go BCU then simply make or find (if made) the OnRPG BCU guild (probably should be made) and duel! Fun Times are ahead gentlemen, simply join the Xfire group, meet up and we'll have chortles. FOR STUPID PEOPLE LIKE SKEEP, THE LINK TO THE XFIRE GROUP IS http://www.xfire.com/communities/airrivals/ OK? May Helix be with you!
