not sure but mostly the only reason i can think of why an anime would stop following the manga is if the tv episodes release or catch up faster then the manga so the guys who made the old fma probably decided to make up their own story from a certain point. they did a pretty good job on that though imo.. most anime which have fillers or are not following the manga suck horible =p

Probably one of the best of the eps yet. I still like ep 14 or 15 where it was really funny. I found the ending to be the most epic when he burst though well you.

meh just saw 27 (i know im late) but was sad to see most of the episode were flash backs. i guess they need more time to make a few good eps again

some interesting/weird things happened inbetween those flashbacks though (hohenheim has a twin brother? o.O whats his name? lol)

regarding the spoiler, im wondering the same lol. i havent read the manga yet so i have no idea.

but yeah i was expecting a more exciting episode but it turned out to be whole ep of flashbacks.

yes you can. they arent linked to eachother. however, i do got the feeling still that more got explained in the old FMA compared to the new FMA which seems to have more action.
