Because Gol D. Roger left his legendary treasure named One Piece and it became world famous? Kinda weird question you got there.
Well Bleach is even weirder for me. Maybe someone spilled bleach over some chemicals and thus came the hollows and yaadadada. Haven't watched it further than episode 10 because the enormous amounts of fillers scared me away.

Bleach: I read somewhere that it was something about purifying the soul and whatnot, like how bleach "purifies" clothes/sheets/other stuff
One piece is just because that treasure or whatever is called just that |
