Default Help Picking an External HD

Basically, this is what I'm looking for.

1 TB.
Easy to use.
Not loud.
Not huge.

The 1TB size is semi-flexible, depending upon pricing, as is the size of the harddrive itself. It doesn't have to be the size of a tv-series DVD, though that's a bonus, I just don't want something the size of a 12-pack of soda.

It doesn't need to be silent, I just don't want it to be extremely loud. I have my computer on with full-powered fans all the time, so it can be that loud maybe a little louder, but not much more.

Easy to use is important. Plug it in, drag files, moves them at a decent speed, etc. I don't need anything really complicated, but it shouldn't be extremely limited either.

Price range is ideally around $100 but under $150 is the limit.

You have two options, you can either build your own external HD, or buy one. I'd personally build one, since it's easy as hell. If you want to buy one instead, I'd get these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136321
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136186
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148356
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148405
Mainly because they're branded names for internal HDDs, so naturally, you'd chose well known brands, instead of brands like Cavalry, which I haven't heard anything about.

If you were to build one, you can possibly go up to 1.5TB for around the same price, but for 1TB, it's definately less, depends on the model and the external enclosure.
Here's the external enclosure(just the case and the plugs that goes for the HDD)

HDD:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148411

Note these are low power HDD, which mean slightly less performance, but not a lot. In tests, it's been around 20MB or so slower when transferring files over, but it's also cheaper, plus, it has more cache, which makes up for the lower RPMs compared to the external HD.

If you'd had to pick out of the 3, I'd choose the Cavalry. The WD is apparently 5400RPM, the Cavalry is 7200RPM with 16mb of cache and $20 rebate. The iomega, well I never heard of the brand, so I wouldn't take the risk and I looked it up and it seems the brand had a few issues in the past, but nothing on the external HDs.

I use this:

Although I got it cheaper at my local Best Buy. It's fast, easy and efficient. Works extremely well over a wireless network.

Omg. 1TBs are sooo cheap now.

I bought a 300 gig for the same price of the ones Sakumo listed.
