Default Thinking of starting retail. Got a few questions.

Hello fellow OnRPG members and WoW players.

I've played WoW special servers for quite a while and the more I play them, and realize how the bugs make the gameplay quite under par to the retail version.
What turned me down to the retail version so far is the fact you need to buy the game and since WotLK itself is 50$, Battlechest is 50$, I was thinking of buying only the Vanilla version for now and buy expansions as I level up.

I'd like to know if it is worth it, would I actually enjoy the feeling of the retail if I like special servers.

Also, I'm thinking of rolling Horde side as a Shaman or maybe a Warrior, don't know yet.

If anyone has a recruit-a-friend thingy, not sure how they work anyway, I'd be glad to help you.

Thanks for your time.

I used to play special servers too, then I was like wow this isn't as fun as I wanted it to be, so I bout wow, was only 20$, and the first 60 levels take a little bit too. But yea it was sooo much better, just the feel was amazing. There where lots of people to talk to and do stuff with. So yea I totally say its worth it. Also if you want to do recruit a friends send me your email, basiclly you get 2 weeks of free play. its nice!

I feel like playing a bugless game with so many things to do, no matter what people say about it, is awesome. What I wanna know though, is how hard was it to level in the Vanilla version and how was class balance and such.

Retail wow is has almost no bugs, maybe one or two here and there. Its very easy to leveling in wow now. I toke me like 2 months from 1 to 70, and another like 2 weeks from 70 to 80. It it doesn't take too long.

If you're serious about World of Warcraft and are looking to sell your soul, then go retail man. Leveling takes time, sure, but its fun and full of content, quests & lore and other fun junk.

If you like WoW, you SHOULD play on the official servers. Period. That's all there is to.

The leveling is paced right, theres tons of people to do stuff with, and it's getting better and better. Especially with the upcoming linked LFG between servers for 5 mans.

I'm getting convinced, really. I love the game and the lore behind it and stuff. I guess I'll start with the Vanilla version to see if I enjoy it and once I hit higher levels, might buy the BC/WotLK expansions.
