You can add me, ill help you. Level 31 or 32 sniper. Yes Mel was lame, i died 1 time lol. Killed all the others without dying. I found one orange weapon, didnt have significant stats but thats probably because it might have been a lower level orange.

Well what happened to me, was Mel 'killed' me, but he kinda hovered around my body. I just unloaded on him with my stronger gun at the time, a 100-something sniper rifle, and right when the screen was almost completely black, he went kaboom. I died shortly after because there was about 4 rocket-wielding cars ramming around me, but I still got quest kill so that's all that mattered.

Just hit level 30 a few minutes ago, found my first orange weapon in Old Haven. A shotgun with regen ammo and a huge zoom. (helpful on a shotty, right? :P) Not the greatest weapon ever, but an orange is an orange and I'm happy with it. Good for clearing out spiderants and the like without wasting any of my other ammo.

And to all that aren't this far yet; Old Haven, at least for me, seemed to be quite a step up in the difficulty, but it was the most fun I've had in the game thus far. Only tip I'll give is to bring acidic weapons. The guys here are much more heavily armored than the bandits you fight up to this point, and the acid really helped. Oh, and watch for grenades.

I think you are suppose to use the a car to kill mel lol. Thats what i did, im level 37 and just started my second playthrough. Ya Old Haven is definately a step up from the previous levels. The later levels are crawling with those crimson guys, its ANNOYING lol. The next boss is 3 strong *** crimson guys, so good luck. I died one time on them before beating it. Seems like i have a nack for dying one time before beating a hard boss lol.

I was using a car, but I hate vehicle combat and was quickly demolished.

32 now, just killed the Rakk Hive. Easiest boss thus far, no good loot sadly.

I was thinking about it,
The extra loot would be nice. :P

But I like my Sniper/Gunslinger build too much to change right now. My damage is insane, and 100% chance to bypass shields is pretty nice.

ya everyone seems to be going mordecai, its quite sad. Yes, even i am guilty lol. I think ive only seen 2-3 Rolands, 2 Liliths, and 1 brick. Not much diversity since everyone wants to be mordecai lol. Doesnt matter though, i 1 shotted them all when they dueled me haha. I was pretty surprised i managed to no scope some of them without taking any damage.
