The men paled at the sight of the gun. They took a step backwards. "Leg it!" One of them shouted, they turned and two ran away from the street. The last one began to follow but, seeing Delphi, moved slowly over to her and, ignoring her struggles and muffled screams, picked her up and threw her over his back. He began to run after his friends.

Mask heard the scream from below and peered over edge of the building and discovered the scene. "God damn it!" Mask yelled. He quickly put on his mask and pulled out Engal. He laid down over the edge slightly, took aim and fired at the largest man he saw. The bullet whizzed towards him, clipped his ear right off his head. Mask yelled to the men. "Let her go and leave right now and you can keep every limb, and not have any new orifices. Kay, 'lads?"

The final thug dropped Delphi, clutching at his head, where his ear had been. He ran into the shadows.
After hitting the floor Delphi lay, curled up in a ball, sobbing.

Smasha slung his M4 and ran over to the woman. "Hey, you ok?" He asked, offering her a hand.

Delphi couldn't see who was talking but she didn't dare move in case someone else tried something. If she could just stop crying she knew she would be fine.

Smasha shook the woman's shoulder lightly. "Are you alright?" He repeated, worried about what these men had done to put her in such a state.

Mask took out his nylon rope, tied around his waist then to an air conditioner on the roof and scaled down.

Mask turned to the man" Who are you?" He then turned to the girl." And what the hell happened?"

Delphi felt someone touch her. She hit out blindly. Her fists bouncing off someone's chest, no damage.
She slowly stopped herself, grabbing the person in an embrace and praying they wouldn't hurt her. She concentrated on her breathing, stopping the crying.

Smasha looked at the man climbing down the building. "People call me Smasha." He said. "And," He gestured to the woman. "I just saved her from something horrific. You the guy that capped one of 'em in the ear?" He asked, hoping that this guy was on his side. Suddenly, he felt the woman hit him. "Woah there, I ain't gonna hurt ya." He reassured her.

Delphi clung onto...smasha?...in a hug, she had finally stopped crying but, at the moment could only say. "Thankyouthankyouthankyou." Which she repeated again and again.
Her coat billowed around them, exposing her knife and gun on her belt.
