Crumbly, but Good

Pffft. Ubuntu. It's all about Debian.
Linux takes a little while to get used to. It's an awesome O/S, and can play a lot of Windows stuff (I run Civ IV just fine, and apparently WoW works just good as well, you can see which games work on here: http://www.winehq.org/) The thing is though, you can't just like keep a Wndows partition and a Linux one, 'cause you'll just end up using the Windows one all the time and never learn Linux, you have to go just 100% Linux for like a few months until you get used to it.

Running on Kubuntu/Linux right now.
(Planing on getting rid of KDE though, just to inefficient and distracting) If I would set up my box again, id probably go Debian. The main reason I am using Linux is my Xp went boom, but there isn't too big a difference. It's a little experiment, till i get my laptop back. |

I think Ubuntu, and a lot of Linux OS, are really good. I have an Acer Laptop whose videocard chipset went haywire and became unable to render in 3D (I think it burned or something). Of course I had WindowsXP and got a BSOD. Formatted and was never able to finish the windows installation due to that defect. Tried Ubuntu forcing VGA only (2D only) and got it up and running without a glitch, really fast and very easy to configure
The only problem was that after 1 month or something didn't noticed that 1 of the updates was for the video card and that made the 3D active and crashed the OS. Tried to install it again after format but the graphic card didn't allowed me to enter the X (freezed in all times). I can still start the laptop with a Linux on the fly but is not the same thing. Perhaps will try again with some other Linux when I have the time :P
