oh, and I tried running Avenger with the specs on that forum, and erm, none of the objects and paths existed.

msconfig works though

oh, and I've no clue how to use linux so I'm not sure that's a good idea :/

edit: found something "BtwSrv"

also fastnetsrv Service

http://www.sysresccd.org/Main_Page

I had a look at this last year, it's actually simple to set up and use it.

Not sure what OS you're running, could help me try and figure out the problem.

Try running this first:

http://www.cybertechhelp.com/downloa...ws-2000-and-xp

Tested link and it works. This program has helped me numerous time with viruses/spyware/malware that accesses admin privileges.

Looking it's from 2005 the virus probably has been patched around it. It's still worth to try it though.
Just save it under a different name as the original.

... now I'm getting this error when I try to start XP (this isn't a full transcription of the error message btw)

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is
identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check
with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video
adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable
BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need
to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your
computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then
select Safe Mode.

Stop Code
0x0000001E

I had to disable auto-restart to see what the message was.

Did your computer ever shut down during the Windows setup process?

oh also how the reformat error would work is it would begin setup, it would load a bunch of files than say "Starting Windows". then after a few seconds I'd get the Blue Screen of Death.

would it help if I described exactly how my computer got ****ed in the first place?

It somehow got a fake antivirus thing that kept popping up, and showed a red "x" on the taskbar. At some point it shut down my internet, turned the desktop black, and downloaded three things onto my desktop something like "pornotube" "youporn" and some other porn thing lol

oh and the task manager thing that I already mentioned.

should I just take this into some sort of shop? This just seems to be getting more and more beyond anything I can deal with :/
