Default Can't hibernate, or standby

I have really long waiting times to wait for windows to shut down (greater than 1 minute) and standby or hibernate says "preparing to..." at which point it just freezes for ever. Literally, ever. Only way is to pull the plug.

What can I do? apparently something is causing this....

I also have a (slightly different) standby issue.

With my computer, it goes into standby fine, but when it comes out, exactly 1 minute later the computer completely freezes. The only way to come out is to pull the plug on mine too.

Sounds like your problem has to do with something that's being loaded up. Mine is a problem with something that's not shutting down.

Similar, but opposite at the same time.

Hope someone helps us then...
