Well I personally like Final Fantasy Legacy, it is the closest to the Final Fantasy gameplay than all of them. Though I think another Final Fantasy game is on there (not listed) trying to imitate the NES Final Fantasy 3 with similar smooth gameplay. But I haven't tried it personally. It's called Final Fantasy Legend of the Crystals. It was made by the user Dphoenix7 but it appears it's not hosted often and probably not finished. The media previews isn't too bad though.

Byond makes very little, and for the longest time it was ran on donations only(before membership was added.)

It's not a browser game, it's a BYOND game which requires you to download the Byond client to log into (after you create a free account, or key it is called) and THEN you click on the "Join" button on the game server desired on the game's site. It is because of this because they programmed in Byond's software language so they can use the easy network game support for their game.
