I've finished game with 20th lvl dual-wield warrior (berserker/champion) on normal difficulty easily. Died just a few times, when ganged by a lot of soldiers. Overall I prefer dual wield because of the bonuses you get from 2 weapons instead of one. One handed weapons can have up to 3 sockets, in which good runes might be added, like 20physical resistance ones, multiply it by 6 (2weapons) - you have 120 additional phy resistances - by this immunity to stuns, knockbacks. Of course trading damage for defence. Also there are amazing skills in dual wield tree - punisher, riposte, flurry for single target, whirlwind, dual sweep for AoE. Berserk stance gives around 9 damage for both hands, champion's rally gives +10 to both defence & attack.

Now repeating game with rogue(assassin/ranger) doing everything differently than before (mostly evil way of quest completion to unlock other achievements).

By the way - ranger is very powerful specialization, because you get a pet which is almost as strong as Wardog. Wolf gets warhound's skills, bear gets slam & rage, spider gets web & poison spit. It's like an additional DPS party member. At lvl20 Leliana's bear had 520HP!!!

Nevermind. . . this game will be like nwn, so I will buy it. . . played nwn 5 years straight... best game of my life xD. ...

They will probably add an online future like in nwn, so we can share the worlds that we created with the editor and roleplay to our hearts content. ..

I surely hope they will.

Finished all the Origins and here is how I rank them

Human Noble - Dwarf Noble - Dwarf Commoner - City Elf - Mage - Dalish Elf

Origin's of the Noble castes feel more engrossing with intrigue and political power plays.
Dwarf Commoner is sad, redeeming, heroic and amazing
City Elf has a nice emotion spin on it, with a pinch of revenge
The Mage opening is great, but the second half of the tale falls a bit flat in my eyes.
Dalish Elf didn't connect with me at all. Maybe it's because I'm not a minority but it just didn't feel all that special.

My next playthrough will be as an Elf Mage who will not use ANY skills or wear ANY armor or use ANY party members (if I am forced to use a party member, their tactics will always be set to Wait) and will not use ANY items like potions. He will complete the game on Nightmare.

Wish me luck, ladies and gentlemen.

@Sparks: You can't just rank an Origin based on just playing the opening scenes before you go to Ostagar. The Origin continues to affect the playthrough in interesting and sometimes major ways. Important conversations will turn out in a way that is totally different than if you were a different race and a different origin story. What might seem like a just mediocre origin story will become much more interesting as you do quests where a character's behavior is changed based on your origin.

It has been decided. I'm totally a Rogue person.

So what I'm gonna do is work on both dual wielding/archery and be like a legolas clone.

Yeah my first playthrough so far has been a Rogue with Dual Wielding. I haven't even bothered to put any points in any tree other than Dual Wielding and Rogue pretty much. (Not to mention Assassin.)

All it really means is that once I get behind a character that is occupied by one of my tanks, it is dead. There is no question about it, unless it's a dragon, in which case I'M dead.

I've only used a bow once because sometimes I come up with really, really silly tactics to fight enemies. Like, ridiculously silly and convoluted to just beat two archers and a blood mage behind a barrier.

The amount of silly tactics you can do in this game is impressive, and fun.

BTW GUIZ I MADE A DRAGON AGE ORIGINS FANS SOCIAL GROUP AND INVITED A LOT OF YOU TO JOIN BECAUSE I HAVE WAY TOO MUCH FREE TIME RIGHT NOW

I'm playing this game now and I absolutely love it. It reminds me of NWN, except with better graphics and gameplay. I was a huge fan of Baldur's Gate, so I wonder if this game is good enough to surpass it...
