You do it at the level-up stat distribution screen. To add a sub-class, however, you have to unlock it by either being taught said class by another character or by buying a skill book at certain venders.

For example, to learn shapeshifting you have to have have a high friendship level with Morrigan, and to get Templar you have to have a high friendship level with Alistair.

I'm having a tough time deciding between being a sword/shield or dual wield warrior, or a dual wield or ranged rogue..

I got the farthest with a dual wield rogue (no spoilers please!) but then I had second thoughts about my choice, and started to find that using a bow was much more useful.

But then since I was using dual wield, I had a bunch of strength as well, so I used heavy/massive armor, and stopped using stealth, as it was pretty useless...

In the end she was pretty much a warrior with low health and died easily.

Tried a mage, got impossible to continue when I had to go against 5 archers and a mage with only me, a ranged character with low HP, a melee with low hp, and a tank with high hp, but still died easy.

Warrior...I'm not sure on, they seem dead set on setting them up to be the tanks =/

Hmm I thought a dual weild rouge would use a lot of dex since they can use them for skills. I also am doing a duel wield assassin with no stealth, I die pretty easily but don't use the same armor as u.
I say go for a 2h sword warrior for fun.

They can, but I used swords and axes and such, not daggers, so I needed strength for requirements and damage.

I'm completely against two handers in games, they're always too slow, and I like being fast :P

Though I guess I could give mage another try...Having cone of cold at level 3-4 is crazy fun, I just dislike being so squishy.

Well I played around 20 hours so far, gathering 3 of the *who know what* but now Im trying to decide... I actually missed Leliana when she was at the first place. Is there any way I can find her somewhere else? If not, I really dont wanna redo all that I have done... do you think its worth it? This person is a dual warrior with around 20 hours worth of play while my mage has 2 hours worth of play.
