^ It's a bit had to explain, it's much easier to just watch a video of it, but this is basically how it works:

It's basically a turnbased system similar to FFX, but whenever you choose to take an action like attacking, using an item or skills, a thing called "the judgment ring" appears, which is a ring with colored segments and a dial that rotates around the circle, and you have to press a button at the right time(s) when the dial is on a colored segment.

If you time it right you will attack, and depending on how well you time it you may inflict more damage. You can also customize each character's ring to make the segments larger (or add new segments which means more hits when you attack) There are also 4 different types of normal attacks, like launching the enemy up into the air or slamming them into the ground.

You can use these attacks to make combos, for instance the first character can launch the enemy into the air, then someone uses a wind spell, the next character slams the enemy into the ground and the last one uses an earth spell.

Oh, and there are status effects that alter your judgment ring as well, like making the dial go faster, go in reverse, or making the whole ring smaller.

I think it's a pretty interesting system once you get used to it, and it's not as complicated as I probably made it sound.

ah that's cool
that system kinda reminded me of legend of dragoon, where you'll time your press on the small box to chain combos

Ar tonelico, it's quite a nice game. Has a nice storyline, an enjoyable game if you don't mind the graphics.

You said you played Fable 2, so if you have a 360 I would recommend Lost Odyessy if your into the ye ol' JRPGs.
But for me western always excels so venture into the land of Bioware and pick up Mass Effect and Dragon Age for the PC.

No 360 now, sold it a while back just because I got bored with the lack of games I liked. Of course then they bring out Lost Odyessy and a few others so I will probably get another one eventually. Have played a few of them on a friend's system and love those kind, as well as Assassin's Creed type games.

Love Ar Tonelico, another one I already have, both 1 and 2.

I was so bored I went back and play the DMC series again. Now am thinking of working some more on a second run of FF12 but not sure I have the patience to grind right now lol.

I am in lazy game mode right now, was playing Mana Khemia 2 but a bit bored with it for now.

Kicking myself for giving away my GC and N64... in a Zelda-ish mood and don't have TP for the Wii.

Ah well, thanks for all the suggestions I will find one to play for more than 30 mins haha.
