Shatter skies you should really consider that G.SKILL, Phenom II X4 combo suggested by Sukomo. Nice deal imo.

Guys I do appreciate the comments and I'm doing what I can. If put off buying parts as suggested for now. Will be doing a little more research in the parts suggested here recently.
Though as I am caught up in Assassins Creed 2, (lol), I'm kind've going half assed right now. But believe me, I do appreciate the suggestions. Especially if it helps make my computer more powerful without being too costly. I do not plan on OCing my computer, and I've considered crossfiring some video cards but for right now, for what I am doing, I don't see it as a necessary need right now, so I will be just using one video card until the future. Sorry for the double post, but this question is directed at Sakumo. (edit: nifty, it automatically merges the two posts... thats new, for me) First and foremost, I looked over the suggestions and I put more or less all of them into play. So I do appreciate that help greatly. Two questions. First, HDD, besides price is there that much difference between the 32mb of cache from my original hdd to the 16mb that you suggested? Second, the choice of motherboard. What is your reasoning for the change? Is it better for upgrading in the long run? They both seem fairly similar. Again, cheers mate, you saved me so far ~$60. 1st Question: No major difference, besides that it uses ~3 watts less, write time(copying files from CD to HDD) is slightly slower, and that it runs at 5400RPM when it does not need to run at 7200RPM. Personally, I wouldn't use it as an OS drive, since it boots up slower, but as a gaming drive, it runs very similarly. 2nd Question: It's more upgradable, which is a major factor if you hate constantly upgrading. Plus DDR3 is much faster than DDR2(in long term usage, but in short term, it is slightly slower).

agree, if you don't want to buy a new pc in the future and want to use the same one for about 5 years or so, make sure it has an upgradeable path.
it may cost more, but putting more money into a better motherboard is really worth the price. but for the AM3 and 775 socket, DDR3 at 1600mhz (2000mhz (OC) for 755) \w Max 16gb RAM is the best you can get atm. both the mobo me and sakumo has selected good mobo that give you room for upgrade, with DDR3 support. if you have the money, go for the one selected by sakumo since ddr3 1600mhz is its native speed with a max of 16gb ram. |

I went with Sakumo's suggestions as upgradability isn't something to look past lightly. I hope that by the end of this coming week I will be able to start buying these parts. Just depends on how many hours I get in.
Guys, I appreciate the help and suggestions you have given me, its been more then helpful given the restraints that I'm on IRL. Believe me, my thanks can't be expressed more. Parts were bought today, added a rush order. Hopefully tomorrow it will get shipped out pretty quick and here by Wednesday, before the holiday. Ultra giddy right now haha, gonna make for a long beginning of the week. Cheers. Last edited by Shattered Skies; 11-22-2009 at 06:48 PM. Reason: update |
