It's not about feeling "good" it's about showing respect for fellow humans that have died. It's natural to feel sad when you hear that some one has died because it could have been you or some one you loved. It does not make you a hard @ss to say you don't care about others and that their deaths don't make you feel a thing. It makes you sound heartless and unfeeling.

I'm not saying people have to go "Oh that's so sad" and weep over the loss of every death, what i'm saying is that people need to have respect for the dead - Saying that is like saying: "The terrorists from 9/11 are noobs, didn't practice enough with windows flight simulator imho.", because - by their logic, millions of people die every day, right? Why would it matter?

I'm not trying to be a hard-***. Why can't you accept that some people do not care about random humans?

I don't wish death on them, I don't wish them harm, I simply don't care about individual or mass groups of people that have had no impact or influence on my life.

Why is that unreasonable? To suggest I feel sad for a nobody when I would feel sad for a loved one is to make nobodies and loved ones equal. I'm sorry, but that's not the case.

I say "nobodies" in the sense that they are nobody to ME. Not that they suck.

I'm not gonna go out of my way to diss the dead, but I'm not gonna go out of my way to respect them either. I treat the dead as I do the living. If you want respect; earn it. If you haven't earned it, you don't get it.

I have a general hatred and dislike for people. I know that's the "cool" thing to say, and there's no way I can prove it, but people who know me or have interacted with me can attest. Being misanthropic does not mean you're an asshole. I don't spit on graves or make jokes, but I don't care if people do. I judge on an individual level, so if you have not given me cause to care, then I don't care. I am simply apathetic to the individual.

I don't see why that's heartless. If you came to a funeral of my loved one and gave sympathy, I'd tell you where to get off and ask you who you think you are to offer sympathy like you knew her.

No, it's not heartless.

Heartless would imply a lack of heart. Heart here having the meaning of compassion, care, sympathy or love. None of these qualities are lacking in me. They are just not directed at those who do not deserve it.
