They should want to be seen as the dominant force...depending on the situation of course. After everything is settled down, then they can put on the nice guy face.

I know quite a bit of LEOs that are like that. (especially with the ones that I hang out with) On the job they almost seem like assholes but off-duty they are fairly laid back.
