*Where?
A: http://zodiac.enjoymmo.com/ http://zodiac.enjoymmo.com/forum http://account.zodiac.enjoymmo.com/register/index.php -------------------------------------------------------------- *When? A: It started november 1st 2009. -------------------------------------------------------- *Why would I want to waste my time on this? A: There are very few turn based mmorpgs out there. This one I am currently playing and enjoying. It has an "old school" feel from the old Super Nintendo RPGs. I am actually surprised so few have noticed this game. --------------------------------------------- *How do I get beta keys? A: There are multiple sites, but those I know are: http://www.*****************/2009/10...-giveaway.html <- f r e e m m o g a m e r http://cgenetwork.com/option,com_eve...etails/did,68/ http://contest.************/giveaway/zodiac/ <- m m o s i t e http://www.mmoabc.com/giveaway/94/Zo...-Giveaway.html ---------------------------------------------- *Is there any PVP? A: There are two forms of pvp: duel and forced pvp (a.k.a. PK). In duels the participants do not lose anything. In PK, the winner gains a random item from the loser. I haven't had time to test the PK feature yet. However, according to GM you need to buy an item ingame that allows you to pk. Once you have that item you are supposidly able to kill people freely. --------------------------------------------------- *Are there any classes? A: There are no classes in a strict meaning. When you create your character, you can choose between 12 different "Aptitudes". Depending on which Aptitude you choose, for every tier, three active skills can reach max skill level 12 instead of 10, and 3 corresponding passive skills can reach max skill level 5 instead of 4. When you first learn a skill, it starts at skill level 1. The only restrictions for learning is a stat requirement and level requirement. This means that any character has an option to learn any skill. There are 4 main stats: VIT, INT, STR, DEX. For every stat, there are 3 skills per tier. If you learn one skill from a tier, you cannot learn any other skill from in that tier in that stat catagory. Example: If you learnt a "INT Tier 1" skill, you cannot learn any of the two other "INT Tier 1" skills. However you can still learn from the "STR Tier 1", "DEX Tier 1" and "VIT Tier 1" skills. My prediction is that hybrids will be mandatory in endgame due to the passives. Although you can't get the passive skill to highest skill level immiedietly, the bonuses will definitily be worth it when you do. I recommend to experiment during the beta. ---------------------------------------------------------- * Are there any pets? A: Yes! In this game, the pet is important for survival. They are introduced early into the game. During the beta, pet skill books were hard to get, so I recommend to either let your pet focus on VIT for tanking or STR for attacking. Don't invest in INT: you'll regret it since the pet skill books are so hard to get in beta. ---------------------------------------------- *Random Encounters? Yes, it is "old school". Random encounters. Which means basicly no ksing. However, you can buy quite cheaply from a npc both a comsumable item that gives you "no random encounters" for 20 minutes, and one that cancels that effect. Very handy when traveling large distances. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Can I multiclient? A: I have no idea if it is "legal", but I personally strongly recommend you to do so. There is no clientsided protection against multiclient and the game requires few resources. So at least play 2 characters at once. Teams(a.k.a. parties) can hold max 5 characters. Difficult bosses usually require 4-5 in the team to beat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Is it easy to communicate over the "world" with other players or is it for cashwhores only? A: World chat only requires 2 rage points to use, and rage recovers automaticly very quickly. So you will be able to chat quite freely. I never had a problem. Just don't abuse the freedom:P. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * I have a fettish for crafting, is there any in this game? A: Yes, there are multiple living skills: mining, lumbering, herborizing (gathering plants), composing (Crafting weapons and armors), decomposing (converting old equips into materials), alchemy, gem mechaning and cooking. -------------------------------------- * Is it easy to level? A:Until around level 33 you are able to level solely based on quests. There are also daily activities that give a signficant amount of experience. -------------------------------------------------------- * Is there any ranking list? A: Yes, you can check the ranking list in a billboard in the centre of the first city. There is even a statue there for the richest and the highest level character in the game. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Skill list Here is a list someone in the game forum compiled over the tier 1 and 2 active skills available in the game: STR: C1 Required LVL 10, STR 20 Enervation Double Hit Hemorrhage C2 Required LVL 25, STR 24 Spirit Puncture Double Chop Confusion DEX: C1 Required LVL 10, DEX 20 Critical Hit Fleetfooted Ice Anthema C2 Required LVL 25, DEX 24 Riptide Impact Pray Counterattack VIT: C1 Required LVL 10, VIT 20 Healing (Pet) Epee Chop Defiance C2 Required LVL 25, VIT 24 Lighting Chain Soul Fire Lion's Roar INT: C1 Required LVL 10, INT 20 Fireball Frostbolt Restoration C2 Required LVL 25, INT 24 Rejuvenation Fire Arrow Titan's Fury ------------------------------------------------------- Turn-based battle ![]() -------------- Pet ![]() -------------- Aptitudes ![]() --------------- STR Tier 1 active skill ![]() ---------------- STR Tier 1 passive skill ![]() -------------------- Note: Any suggestions for change in this post are welcome. I played the game in closed beta. Decent game. The only strange thing at least for me is taht the putting points into int didn't have any effect even on my spells. Is putting points into int worthwhile at all?

played it as well. just felt like i've played it before.... overall decent game. i remember just getting to a insane level just by killing those star mobs that appear... they would always give me a level or two
![]() also another thing that bugged me was the customization... basically every dragon zodiac person looks EXACTLY the same. from the weapon to the same god dam hair. everything.

Yes, it is something about the style that just makes me able to withstand it without feeling to throw out my computer after 30 seconds. I guess it is because this reminds me of the really old final fantasies, such as I, II and III as well as the Seiken Densetsu series (Secret of Mana).
@Kostolomac: Yeah, the effect isn't super high. However, it does add up. Do notice that "damage" in the skill description changes depending on your m.atk/atk (depends on skill). I think it is done on purpose so that people will think: do I want to really add 25 int here to gain some m.atk, or do I want to spend them in another stat to unlock a new passive. Skill training is though not so easy @@. |

The company itself is a POS company. after 4 months you lose sight of GMs and problems will be many but patches and fixes few and far between. I used to Mod for a couple of their earlier games.
Basically once they release the item mall you'll see a decline in activity.

Wow............... this game looks brutal. I'm guessing this is one of those companies that reward people for advertising their crappy games.

I just thought the game was enjoyable due to it felt very retro from the snes/nes rpgs. If a person haven't experienced those before, then it might be difficult to understand why this game feels nostalgic. Anyhow, it is not like I intend to stay in this mmorpg for years. I intend to have fun while I can, and when the content dies out due to lack of updates or whatever reason, then I definitely won't play it any further. It is a game, not a life commitment. |
