So I wanna get borderlands and I wanna know if:

A Dell Inspiron E1705 with:
ATI mobility Raedon x1400 GFX card
Intel Core 2 CPU t5200@1.60ghz, Performance at 2.4ghz
and 2056 mb (2Gb) ram

oh and I have about 40gb HDD left.

If there is anything else you wanna know about my sh!tty rig, let me know.

And I wanna be able to run it smoothly (30+ fps), at probably medium-low settings.

Can I?

4 Gigs of ram 2.2 ghz dual core and a card around the same level as yours and no you probably won't be getting 30+ FPS unless you lower the resolution a bit. I think I managed to get it in the high 20's at like 1028x768 with everything maxed.

This may or may not look like shit depending on your monitor.

The graphics aren't really that great in the first place though I don't really notice a whole lot of difference when I'm playing between low and maxed out.

I dont know if gfx card can handle this but , just try Borderlands doesnt have high req

Well yes I plan to keep the Resolution at 800x600

well the reccommended specs are

rocessor: 2.4 Ghz or equivalent processor
Memory: 1GB System RAM (2GB recommended with Vista)
Graphics: 256mb video ram or better (GeForce 8 series or higher/Radeon R8xx series)
Hard Drive: 8 GB or more free space

id say it should work man,only thing i can think of is the pixal shader may be flaky.

So whats your guess if I put my res. to 800x600 and settings to medium-low....possibly lowest, how many fps would I get?

to tell you the truth it shouldbe enough to be enjoyable

id say around 45-50 @800x600 med low settings

you wont be able to. my friend has a 8600m in his laptop, core2duo @ 2ghz, and it wont run well at all, below 30 fps.
