and im pretty sure the bullet is killing the person, or that might be the bleeding to death, in which case that person is killing himself?

Something similar happened to me last year, was just walking home at about 11pm when some guy walks over to me and holds a gun against my head. Luckily for me a police car turned the corner while this was happening and he walked away.
What he wanted from me i dont know, he didn't even say anything.

by people kill people i meant that it doesn't matter if the dood shot someone or stabbed to death. It was his intention to kill.
If he would have no intention of doing so then gun or knife wouldn't matter because he wouldn't do it in the first place.

Suppose this mentally stable person is a bit drunk. Do you think he would still be able to act rational? Heck, when you are in a life threatening situation (specially if it is your first time), you can't count on sane people to act completely calm and rational. That's the whole point.

Besides, if the predator knows that the victim is most likely unarmed, then he would not freak out due to sudden movements. Suppose the predator is a drug addict and he sees that the victim is moving his hands. If he lives in a country where every citizen is likely to wear a gun, then he is more likely to take the shot to prevent the victim from using their potential gun.

Where there is desperation, there will be crime. However, whether the outcome will be deadly or not is strongly related to how widespread the use of lethal weapons is among the victims.

If you see someone who's clearly clinically insane, it's usually a bad idea to walk closer to them.

Those people are the exact reason why America needs stricter gun control laws.
Oh, and don't give me that guns don't kill people, people kill people bull.

Providing firearm access to those who lack the professionalism to handle it is no different than committing a murder.

Guns don't kill people, true. You can't cuff up a pistol and put it on trial.

It's the people who are behind the guns that are responsible.
Yet, understanding the inherent hypocrisy of the situation, we still think it's right to distribute firearms to the unfit.

It's the people who lobby for the blatant, undiscriminated distribution of firearms that should be held responsible for situation like these.

Amen to that.

They're easy to acquire illegally because unregistered, yet legally acquired firearms are widespread.

You can be underage, mentally unstable, and still be able to purchase a gun at most gun fairs.

Gun ownership does not provide a statistical significant in crime deterrence. Anyone that tells you otherwise is spreading unhealthy propaganda to further their own interest.

Its obvious, they were uneducated wannabe thugs, who managed to get a gun.

Feeling ballsy they decided to approach your car, now the thing was..you got out of the car, this is where you endangered yourself for no reason.
