Exactly right.

If it's a knife, or a game, or whatever else, you can argue the point (Since not all knives are designed to kill).

However, guns exist to kill. They exist only to kill. So to say they aren't to be blamed is both technically correct and a slippery slope.

Anyone who wants a gun must be assumed to be willing to kill.

So if guns are to be given out, it is of absolute critical societal concern that only the mentally fit are allowed.

Even then, someone mentally fit can go off the deep end on a bad day, and having a gun makes it that much easier for him or her to go mad.
