Wow this is funny cuz I was just thinking that they haven't made any good FF game after VII, VIII and IX (story wise). like FF 12's Story was kind of like Everywhere. Half the time I was playing the game I would get lost.

Well, seeing how many games they have out, of course they would start to lose ideas. Not to mention how many other RPG's are out there. Either way they would be copying something.
Now im looking forward to FF XIII Versus and FF XIV FF 3 was my favorite 12 was pretty good to. The characters just sucked

The only sequel ever made to a final fantasy game was X-2, and I think that was the game that deserved it. All of the other final fantasy games wrapped up nicely, but FFX left it open. It didn't need the sequel, but making one didnt have people going, why? Each of the FF stories up to X have been perfect. They have a good mix of adventure, romance, and fantasy/sci-fi. Each game has their strengths. Different systems (Materia, Junction, AP, Sphere grid) and each game always seemed to improve upon the battle system till it was essentially replaced in X and then completely replaced in XII. XII was the weakest FF made until this point. All of the other games, with the exception of XI cause it doesnt count, have been fantastic RPG's. Now FFXIII is either going to re-establish my faith in Square or completely destroy it. The fact that Square has let their other franchises die, like the Chrono franchise, in lieu of Final Fantasy kind of pisses me off. I can get over that though, so here is hoping that FFXIII doesnt let me down. Oh, my favorite game was FFIX. The characters and story were fantastic and kept me entertained the whole game. It was the best one I have played out of the Final Fantasies.

My Favorite was FF VIII, but FF IX was close behind. FF VIII is only higher up on my list because I liked the setting and music a little more. Then Final Fantasy 6 was probably next followed by Final Fantasy 7.

I must admit, after reading Sandman's post, that I was probably being harsh. On eight at least.
I think I liked eight less because it followed the masterpiece that was seven. I don't like R.P.G.s and I don't like Final Fantasy, but that game floored me. Eight, looking back, wasn't shabby. |

FF started failing around 7, mostly since the characters were pretty much two dimensional
Stereo typical main character who has issues with being yelled at Slut who doesn't act like one Other slut who act's like a nun Racist black guy with a sill gun arm Ninja who turns out to be a thief, who is a ninja something or other vampire prick who's girl friend was stolen caitsith the only people who felt somewhat realistic were Cid and the other wasn't even a person. it's a good game but just meh story wise. i think 6 was the last Great FF game, 9 was ok since they tried to go back to the classic style. |
