It's usually a lot easier to call yourself a vegetarian than to be 100% specific about what you eat when you want to quickly express to someone your eating habits.

In actuality, I am a pescetarian. This means I eat typically eat seafood, and not meat from mammals or birds. I also eat eggs, dairy products, etc. Many people do not know what the subclasses of vegetarianism are, so it is easier to use the umbrella term 'vegetarian' in casual conversation.

I'm thinking of situations where a person like myself is about to eat food prepared by someone else; I usually say 'I'm a vegetarian' which implies that meat dishes should not be served to me. In your logic I should say, "I am a pescatarian" or "I eat fish meat, eggs and dairy products but not mammals or birds." It's a lot more awkward and time consuming this way.

Well, yes, obviously I know you eat fish, haha.

There's nothing wrong with that in any sense, because you're not going around promoting yourself as a vegetarian. If asked, that's what you say. Incorrect as it may be, it saves time and I understand why you do it.

I'd say "I'm a pescatarian, I include fish.". That's me though. Not saying there's anything wrong with how you do it, because obviously the label of vegetarian isn't something youre trying to score points for.

Slightly off topic, but my brother had this friend who was vegan, and she wanted a tatoo. However, the tatoo ink contained animal byproduct :/

Well in that case you should specify that trendy vegetarians should actually, you know.. work towards their superficial means of worth. I do go around saying I'm a vegetarian, but not promoting myself in the process.

In fact, i'm trying to reintroduce meat to my diet... but it makes me sick, even in small portions :c

Whatever works for you, works for you.

I've always said that you shouldn't have to blind yourself to what you're eating. So if it's making you sick, you shouldn't force yourself. It's not like you're dying without it.

I kind of am, actually. Well, not entirely from vegetarianism.
