Bladin's Sword Sharpener

So I was putting songs on my ipod. The swirling arrow icon that usually means it's syncing on the iTunes menu stops, but I get it on the screen on my iPod and it says connected, not "syncing" like it's supposed to. So I think it's done, hit the eject and it freezes. Then I go to "Safely Remove Hardware" on the taskbar, it gives me the okay to eject.
I turn on my iPod to find out EVERYTHING is gone. All 3000 songs. All of them were on my old computer in which the screen broke and a few keys are missing and we tossed out. Is there anyway to make a recovery?

Did your ipod said it was safe to remove after you hit to eject?
Because if not, you pretty much wiped your ipod. If you have an ipod with an actual hard disk in it, you probably can use data recovery software to get it back if you havent used your ipod much after it happened.
