The government is legally responsible for peoples health.
Whose resources do you think are spent for the poor unhealthy people to survive? The government, the taxes collected from health people go to finance health systems for those who cant afford themselfs.

The government doesnt just let people die because they are poor and unhealthy. And their treatment isnt free, it uses government resources.

The whole point is to make the companies pay for the health systems if they have over a certain % of fat employees. If they do, they have to pay more taxes, taxes that will be destined to the health systems.

The general population is affected indirectly. Their human rights, their freedom is not restricted in any way. Its a brilliant law trick. The general population start caring about the law because companies wont hire them, so if they want jobs, they have to comply and take care of their health.

It would be against the law if the government said fat people would have to pay more taxes, or if fat people wouldnt be elligible for government positions/jobs or any other form of prejudice.

They have a good reason to do it and it will work. The government washed their hands on the issue, either way, who pay the bills will be the companies: if you want fat unhealthy employees then you are responsible for their health care, pay more taxes!

China still has in effect a law about maximum number of childrens per couple, to prevent overpopulation. Isnt this against human rights? No.

Its a conflict of principles, you have to measure both sides.
One children per person is better than everyone starving to death.

Companies paying more taxes for having fat employees is better than the governent losing funds that would be destined elsewhere, such as public education, in health care system because some people ingest more callories than they need each day.

The Japan law stoped the silliness. Us still has to spend $$$ to take care of the overweight unhealthy people, because they are land of the freedom. Freedom to be unhealthy and later on come crawling asking for government resources for treatment. HAHA
interesting. gj.

but really, losing weight is not easy for most people. a lot of time people don't even realize the weight their gaining because of creeping obesity. getting fat does have many factors that can go into the cause of it. one of the factors being the fact that the entire culture is working against almost all of us (in America and some other cultures at least). saying that there isnt other factors is extremely ignorant. the fact that some of us can sit at our computers all day eating fast food and junk food all day, yet never gain a pound, while other more active people gain weight from just a little junk food is proof of that. im goin to bet that most of the skinny/average sized people here (including myself) dont eat very healthy alot of the time and arent the most active.

saying its only a matter of motivation to lose weight is just further proof of how hard it is. temptation is everywhere and even your own body is working against you trying to lose weight. any average overweight person would have a difficult time doing it. mental struggles are many times much more difficult than physical struggles.
