-Designed so an any simple mind can understand If you want a competitive game, play HoN. -Hard to get at first if you're new to DotA's style of gameplay, but after learning it gets really good. My opinion: Heroes of Newerth. |

My mind is blown. As for my own recommendation: If you have Wc3, stick with (and learn) DoTA before playing either. If that's not a possibility, just play LoL, just because the learning curve is probably a lot easier, and the community is nicer. |

After getting stunlocked by a hero having the brutalizer I realized there is no skill involved in doing that (go figure lol) nor there is any fun in winning or losing like that. There are only a handful long lasting hard disables in LoL which makes the game more about controling your champion instead of just turning battles into disable fests. If someone is willing to check all the heroes in LoL I think there are like two with random chance abilities (master yi's double strike and sion's ignore pain) with only several items that have a random chance to proc whose effects aren't as powerful as DotA random chance items. Having a lot of people say that HoN is more competitive than LoL reminds me of the middle ages where the majority believed and defended the idea that the earth is the center of the universe even though that was false. I guess quality beats quantity after all. But that's my view on the matter, don't let it stop you from enjoying whatever game you play. Last edited by Kostolomac; 11-16-2009 at 02:06 PM. |

HoN has 55 hero's, fast-paced intense arcade action (i love the announcer haha), good graphics, clan support, excellent website + ladder
LoL is very slow, very cartoonish graphics, annoying announcer accent, something like 30 hero's..."edit: oh yeah LoL has Summoner Leveling system, so the more exp you have, the more perks you get (which IMO is very lame)" i don't know, honestly it just seems like LoL is for children... i never played WC3, i never played DotA, i never even knew about this "MOBA" style of game before...i'm 27 years old and after about 22 years of gaming from Coleco Vision to WoW/Aion/CoD MW2/Fallen Earth...i can honestly say i really enjoy this genre of game...i don't know what it is...but i love it...it takes alot of skill.... creepwalking, last hitting, denying,...all those small things have a huge impact on late game performance... anyways....HoN is in closed-beta right now, the invites are currently not working (but i'm sure you can find unused key's easily) so you might be better off to check out LoL...it actually helps people who aren't used to these style of games, and gets them ready for HoN haha also check out Bloodline Champions http://www.bloodlinechampions.com/ that game is gunna pwn |
