Ignore the idiot ^^^^
The game is incredibly addictive and challenging. Right now there is definitely lack of content, but the number of champs and the pure addictiveness of it makes up for it. I'd definitely give it a try if I were you. You've got nothing to lose D:

I greatly enjoy it, but I'm playing premades always always so it improves gameplay quality by a large margin. You can run the game OP not sure on the level of detail though.
I don't know about the US community, but in the EU you can always find a nice group if you are polite. I advise you that after a few games when you learn the ropes you add every good player from your solo qeue adventures to your friends list. The thing I like the most is how the race for map domination begins from second 1. Battles at the dragon/golem are very common and very interesting. |

hmm its funny you say HoN is harder to get into. i think if you already are familiar with dota HoN would be an easier game to play. i've played both anddddd in my opinion
- - - - HoN is more polished and everything runs more fluidly than LoL. |

it's definitely fun if you have a group of friends playing together.
the matchmaking system is still pretty messed up.. they say it's 50-50 that you win or lose. what they didn't mention is that it's 50% that you win by obliterating the other team completely or 50% you got raped real bad. i barely get a very balanced, competitive game using the matchmaking system.. the chance is like 1 out of 5 or 1 out of 10.. the game is basically like dota except all new heroes, all new items and new features. there's a mastery system ( passive stats to add each time your summoner level up ) and rune system. the game does offer some tips for new players. when you open up the item shop ( ingame ) they have tips for which items to buy for you hero. they might not hit the spot all the time, but it's a general guideline to what kind of item you should be getting for your char. and if you do want to play HoN, prepare yourself for a game with shitty learning curve and a bad.. bad.. community.. even if you're familiar or experienced with dota, it will take some time to get used to the new models, new names of heroes and items in HoN. not too mention a bad item shop system. it's like learning dota all over again.. Like I said, Just skip LoL and go to HoN, it'll save you plenty of time.
Since apparently, LoL is going to add a cash shop while HoN is B2P for $30. HoN is also is beta and they said they would be in beta for awhile, meaning it's free until then. |
