From what i saw in versus, the shift went into the favor of the SI. The new infected works very well with each other, in fact a bit too well. The knockback from the charger is ridiculously powerful, spitter is so powerful combo'ed with any SI that keeps the person on the ground, jockey has good knockback and also can last a two clips of pistol fire when riding someone. They did nerf the hunter so his jump is a bit worse.

Seeing my roommate play with 3 of his friends who are hardcore l4d players, they could only pass through the first two stages on versus as humans and could easily stop the opponent before the half way point on each stage of Parish. The last stage of Parish is near impossible for humans as they have to cross a bridge where SI can easily knock them off the bridge to their death. Also a tank has so many cars to play with on the bridge. Though of course, maybe they just need experience on the maps, but it truly does seem as though humans have to work really hard together to get by.

Is it worth getting if you never bought l4d 1?

Indeed ) It's basically new game with new story/chars, simillar features + more and better. Taken my words back...l4d2 is how should l4d be in the first place . Had played already 5+ hrs and couldn't finish first campaign on expert with a firend and bunch of nubs...All can happen there, like a charger in the small corridor...you look at him charging - looking back... damn, window - few secs after you with chargr are laying dead on the ground >< Could've screened this epic moment, but was like Wth?! FFFUUUU ...so yeah...if you have ppl to play with, buy it, totally worth it

I found your problem.
If you have never played the first one, then you won't regret buying the 2nd. But for me who has played the first part just can't get into the second. New characters aren't just funny, comical. They seem bold and too serious. Levels are interesting and it is harder to find the right way if you play the first time, but the only thing I liked were the new weapons. Anything else is just average and not worth my money. Better get it on Christmas or birthday.

Very good question. Personally, I'd just wait and see if Valve is going to be updating Left 4 Dead at all before deciding.

The reason people got pissed when Valve made Left 4 Dead 2 is because Valve updated the hell out of Team Fortress 2. They added more achievements, new maps, new game modes, unlockable weapons, hats and a Halloween event yet all Left 4 Dead has gotten is 2 new game modes and not even half a campaign. A lot of people who bought Left 4 Dead feel rather cheated.
