Im in search of a mouse, but i really dont feel like investing on an expensive gaming mouse. Thus, i just want to see what DPI you guys use. I dont think getting a 4000 DPI mouse is really necessary.

dpi itself isnt very important at all, unless you're a pro CS:S player then you can swear by it i guess.
I just look for optical mice with a great glide and a tad bit heavy. I settled for the razor lachesis. |

400DPI 125Hz OLD mouse and I've tried new ones that were 1000+DPI and 500-1000Hz and I could not tell the difference; in my opinion it's just a marketing tool even though people swear by the numbers on the net.

3500 DPI from my Razer DeathAdder.
Never used anything else, so I can't really compare it to much. I had a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer for a long time, but I never played FPS games with it. Works very well though.

I use 900DPI, sometimes 1800DPI(lower in-game sensitivity). I'm using the palm grip style, which favors lower DPIs. If you use the claw grip or the even less common style(forgot what it's called) which favors higher DPI, since you only move your wrist, and not the entire arm, like the palm grip.

Is it weird for me to say that's the only style I've ever seen anyone use?

To continue my post above, I personally used a hybrid of the palm grip and claw grip. I move my wrist only for small movements, but move my entire arm when I have to make like a 90 degrees +.

That's all I use as well, I just have sensitivity turned up to where I can do a 90 degree turn or whatever with a wrist movement. To each their own, however.
