For the record, you don't have to be any religious at all, to care about the old marriage tradition.

Anyhow, I am going to sleep; has been a long discussion. Hopefully, when I wake up, the world magically stops depending on money, people stop being so egoistic and we can all laugh on how stupidly we lived during this century.
Well, it seems to have worked quite well so far, especially in my country.

Indeed not, homophobic perhaps, but, no, you do not need to be entirely religious.

Quite, have to hope that certain people of the world stop oppressing others on things that do not affect them, or hating other people for who they choose to love. I suppose in an ideal world they wouldn't exist in the first place however.

The biggest problem I see is once a law is enforced it is done very poorly.

Things like disability laws cripple small businesses which require them to have thousands of changes made in order to incorporate the disability laws. This costs a lot of money. Also people make a living suing companies for not following one of those thousands of laws for the handicapped.

And yes it is easy for a person to get money for suing. All they have to do is send a note to a business telling them that he/she will sue them for certain reasons pertaining to the laws on the disabled. They will tell the business to pay up or go to court. Most of the time it is just cheaper/ less risky to pay up.

So while I do support equal rights, I do not support forcing others to accommodate to your special needs.

What tradition?

thousands of years ago gay marriage was accepted in many places. Rome even allowed same sex marriage until Christian emperors Constantius II and Constans issued a law against it with punishment by death.

Why? Just like it is that boys right not to stand for the Pledge of Alliegance, is it also not the right of others to disagree with homosexuality? Why must they conform their beliefs when others are not willing to do the same? He answered correclty, in that America is a nation with freedom of speech. We have the right to disagree with things we don't believe in, just as we have the right to vocalize our stance on the matter. If we're going to advocate that right, shouldn't it be extended to every person?

Just some food for thought.
It's not so much the right to disagree as it is the right to respect. Most of the time if someone is against homosexuality they don't respect gays as people and often treat them like shit and ignore their human rights. The bible says to hate homosexuality NOT homosexuals. But the vast majority of Christians fail to do this.

I don't see anything wrong here if he was standing up against homosexuality or a non-Christan religion they'd hail him a hero. It's getting pretty sad when you can't express yourself in a calm and cool manner without getting called out. I wish more parents raised their kids to think for themselves and not become morons who overreact to every little thing.

And you are right, those Christians are wrong. No where in the Bible are we called to hate, despise, or shun the homosexuals. Those actions have been brought about by misinformed and bitter people. Unfortunately, they give the rest of us a really bad name. I have several friends that are homosexual and they know exactly how I feel about their lifestyles. Does that mean they aren't my friends or that I walk around yelling at them to repent their evil ways and walk in the light? No, it doesn't.

That post had nothing to do with not allowing homosexual marriages or anything of the sourt. It was merely to point out that the other children have the right to stand for their own beliefs as well. And let's be perfectly blunt, chances are that that kid was told what to do and say by his parents. I find it quite hard to believe that a 10 year old has such an opinion on a matter that still raises outlandish amounts of debate by mature adults.
