I defiantly agree that Maple Story deserves a spot, although I think there are a few games that came out before Maple Story in Korea, but since I'm in NA, that was my first side-scroller, my eyes opened in a great excitement 4:00 am when I saw something so new. It reminded me of Donkey Kong at first among a few other NES games with the "enemy touches you, you get hurt kind of idea".

I could rant for a bit at those good memories but I also did a project about researching and presenting info graphs about MMO revenues based on 2008, I was surprised to see Maple Story (US version) as the 6th, behind Korean MMOs and World of Warcraft.

I do think Maple deserves a spot here, but I really think this top 10 should be a bit more region based. I'm not burning the Topic's list or anything, just throwing in what I think.

Gotta remember also that when you post in these forums, expect the temperature to rise.

2) EverQuest
3) WoW
4) DAOC
5) Guild Wars
6) SWG
7) Runescape
8 )Maplestory (I hate it. But..I can't ignore facts =/ )
9) Ragnarok
10) ???

Can't think of a 10th. Oh well.

What about RYL (Risk Your Life) ?

One of the first games that used dynamic movement, instead of crappy bullcrap like in Lineage.

WASD + Active attacking (Slash with the sword whenever you want) and different casting system, instead of "wait till bar reaches maximum, then you will be able to spam another skill" ?
