But this isn't an mp3war, this is a discussion on how flonky the touch is at times. also should I get the repair kit and fix my 1g? or just replace it for however much it cost.

Most fixes only work for so long, but it would be cheaper then a full replace, If you wanna give it off to someone I suggest just getting it fixed.
