you could set up a VPN between the two and use remote desktop.
To set up the VPN, go to network connections in control panel and create a new connection. Fill out the details as required (the company name is going to be the name of the VPN) and then click finish. Now, make sure you turn remote desktop on (in system, under the remote tab), then you just need to set that up, making sure your firewall allows it. Once you have set that up, go to start, accessories (and then it might be under communication, mine wasn't) and go to remote desktop connection, fill in the details and connect (Your computer name will be under system in the computer name tab). |

Cool idea but can I ask why you want to do this? Wont you have to download the files form the other desktop which will be limited by it's upload speed? Seems it would be faster downloading them yourself unless you're doing it for some reason i'm aware of.
