so ever since yesterday, when im on random sites that usually dont give me popups (onrpg, youtube, facebook), but now these random sites come up. the weird thing is that half the links actually bring me to a website, but the other half it says "cannot find the page". anyways, how do i get these off my computer?

Download both MBAM and S&D.

Let them both do a full scan seperately and post results here.

first, wrong place

, second, clear your cache, virus scan, if virus isnt able to take away the virus, search the virus name on google and the answer will show how to take it away

Virus scanners and antivirusses aren't designed to handle adware. :/
They most likely will go undetected.

Yeah, if i try to go to wikipedia it accually opens www.4stroke.org or some other BS sites.

I have to hit back then click the link again and 3 times for wikipedia to come up.

well it wasnt adware....
i did a full system scan with norton while i was out eating. i come back and it finds 150 ****in trojans on my computer. so i just spent $130+ on some 2 year norton security thing cuz all i had was the scanner

just found out i have to uninstall mcafee to get norton, what the ****, i paid for it $70+ but it didnt find anything when i scanned with it.

Norton sux.. just get malwarebytes its also available free.. and next time dont click link you see on ads.. those are deadly

i suggest reformatting your pc if you cant get rid of the spyware/adware
then install firefox 3.5
download addons:
Web of Trust
Adblock Plus
FlagFox

those will help you determine if a website is contaminated or not..

you dont need any anti virus programs if you just know what websites to avoid.

I havent used a antispyware / antivirus for years.. and im doing fine.. i just dont click and access random Ads/website or banners i see

and most of all dont download anything from them
