Default Ticking sounds

Hi. My computer is making all these ticking/clicking sounds whenever I startup or play a game, sometimes even when it's idle. I opened my case, meddled with the crap inside a little and found out that the graphic card's fan is the one making all the noises.

I called customer service and I was asked to run a diagnostic test. They said it was a hard disk problem. But it can't be. The sound is coming from the fan, how can it be from the hard disk? I then received a free, new hard disk from the company due to warranty (HP). The technician installed it, left and the it's still making the same noises!

Then, I bought a can of compressed air and gotten rid of all the dust clogged inside the fans, including the graphic card fan. It's still having the same problem.

Sometimes, I placed my index finger on the fan to make it stop spinning and the ticking/clicking stopped. It doesn't last long though.

Your thoughts on this please?

If possible, a non-budget fix. Otherwise, please advise!

Thanks.

Thank you Sakumo and TKkira.

I googled for "fan maintenance" and found an in-depth guide on how to oil fan bearings. I'll try out the maintenance.
