I'm reading Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill. I'm about halfway through, it's pretty creepy so far. The main character is a retired Death Metal musician, so that's cool.

Right now I'm halfway through Brisingr. It kept getting pushed back and finally I had to read it.

Also, I'm in the middle of the Twilight saga. After I finish Brisingr, I start Eclipse, book 3.

So in this thread, we discuss and share books that make you want to just go wow.

I recently started(and completed) the mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. It made me absolutely amazed at the depth of characterization and the environment completely sucked me in.

The characters are what makes this incredibly unique. It has such a range of emotions and character developments that there are no choppy parts. Nothing suddenly comes at you that makes you wonder "...wat?" The development of personalities is a constant flow that makes you able to see where it all comes from.

While not an epic fantasy with vast descriptions of scenery and political intrigue, Sanderson does something something with the landscape thats not commonly done: made it absolutely minimalist.

Brief Overview: A street gang of con artists plot to overthrow a single ruler who has the power of a god, set in a dystopia where everything is controlled and monitored.

Give it a shot.

Now your turn, gogogo.
VERY good series. Read book 1 in 2 days (I thought it was that good). Classes started though so I had to stop reading some of the 2nd.

Hate all you want, but I thought the Percy Jackson series was VERY well made. Read like all 5 of those books in 2 weeks.

@Neutral. How is The Dome? I heard some good things and some bad from it. Thinking about picking it up.

Also taking a look at the Wheel of Time series.

If anyone reads or read fantasy/sci fi books, I am really up for any ideas. I do like a good story with some action, adventure and alittle bit of hidden drama/romance (not onces that are story driven by romance, but you know, some side things)

for some travel comedy try Bill Bryson's Down Under or his other books.

I'm reading "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?" by Philip K Dick it's the book that Bladerunner was based on. It's fantastic, if you were a fan of the movie or a sci-fi junkie like myself you should pick it up.

An American Dream by Norman Mailer. Man kills his wife and goes nuts. Typical Mailer novel. Love it.
