Yeah the Banana design was actually what they were gonna go for until they read all the negative press.

IMO, Sony needs to take a stand and push the Cell more onto developers.
Anyway I read contrary a few weeks ago that Sony plans on just doubling up the Cells for the PS4.
Honestly too early to tell, I will wait to deconstruct Sony's PR infested anouncement in 2012.

I'm not quite understanding why the cell-processor is being ditched. I mean isn't it faster than most computers right now?

And if that's the case, shouldn't PC developers try to make a new MoBo or processor to use cell-processing

Sony is probably dropping it because it did not gain popularity.

It is to expensive for game developers and takes much more work coding for it.

Those companies care for profit and time is money. So those companies will find it easier to make games for the 360 or for both systems.

Well its without a doubt that Sony is thinking of a new PS.
Its only that they are picking whats gonna be in it, the 2012 date was said only if they started right now.
Right now Sony is making a system that developers will want to design for at a low cost rate and efficiency.

I guess their lucky that their rich enough to take a hit like this and not go under.
I can't wait for the PS4, and the next Xbox.
Hopefully their wont be something better then bluray by then and Sony get their unfair advantage of being the cheapest player of bluray or w/e and ppl buying it for that reason.

If you haven't heard, the industry is attempting to move away from HD and into 3D. They're working on developing glassesless 3D. Hopefully they can solve the issues involved.

The ps3 Has enough powerful 3d graphic card in it system it can last for couple more years. they should just keep making more games fantasy rpg type games.

Next step is to make game system that dont need blueray or CD to play on it. It be more internet connect and you have to download and buy the games
