Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree 8+ years design experience 2+ years as a Lead Designer Department Description: The team is responsible for bringing cutting edge user interface experiences to future Motorola devices. Mobile devices now have powerful graphics hardware similar to that in the previous generation of games consoles; our goal is to make maximum use of this hardware by optimizing system and application software, prototyping future user interfaces and developing tools to make UI development easier. Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations: Design graphically rich, dynamic, socially-connected and most importantly usable user interfaces Work closely with engineers in the team to implement designs as prototypes Hands-on designer prepared to create art assets and work with ad-hoc tools to get the job done Assist in specifying and designing tools to help streamline user interface development Work flexibly acting as both an advisor to other teams and an implementor within the team Help hire and manage additional creative staff as required by the team Specific Knowledge/Skills: Experience of working in a creative driven development organization, especially the games industry Experience developing graphically rich user interfaces to simplify interactions with complex software A demonstrable track-record of delivering user interfaces for consumer products Experience with interaction design and usability Excellent graphical and verbal communication skills 3D modeling tools such as 3DS Max, Maya Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator Bonus skills: Developing user interfaces for mobile or small screen devices, eg PSP, NDS http://tinyurl.com/yhnrd8d |
